This concerts will feature some of the most anticipated performances of the year. Please consider joining us for a celebration of the Winter Solstice at Nauset Regional MIDDLE School. This year's theme is "Nostalgia" and each performing ensemble will have an opportunity to shine and share the music of the winter season. This concert is free and open to the public.
The Nauset High School Choirs and Brass Choir will be the featured performers at our first visit to the Massachusetts State House. We are grateful to our sponsors, State Senator Julian Cyr, for his support of Nauset Schools. As this is a public performance, we are hopeful that many people will consider joining us on the Grand Staircase. Choirs will sing pieces reflecting patriotism and peace as well as the joy of the holiday season.
Please join the select choirs of Nauset High School in a performance of seasonal music at the Brewster Ladies' Library. Solos, Small ensembles as well as large works will be featured at this annual event in Brewster. This performance is free and open to the public.
Please consider joining us for our 17th Annual Winter Festival at Nauset High School. All performance ensembles will be performing and it's an excellent opportunity for some families to buy some gifts and decorations for the winter holidays. One of our biggest draws each year is the basket raffle. Each performing group will fill a theme basket of gifts to be raffled off. Each group competes for bragging rights to see which basket assembled demands the highest bid.
Select freshmen students may participate in this audition to join in choral and instrumental ensembles made up of students in grades 7-9 from middle and high schools in the southeastern corner of Massachusetts. The audition pieces are available online at www.semmea.org If selected, students would participate in a one-weekend festival (location TBD) in March.
Select students will travel to King Philip High School in Wrentham, MA for the auditions for the annual Southeastern District Music Festival. Public and Private high schools from all over the southeastern corner of Massachusetts will send students to audition for this prestigious music event. If selected, students would participate in a one-weekend festival (location TBD) in choral, band, orchestral and jazz ensembles. Nauset High School's participation in past years has been excellent and we expect this trend to continue.
Select students may audition for this annual music festival which includes students from all public and private high schools on the Cape and Islands. Audition music is posted on the semmea.org website. If selected, students will participate in a festival to be held the first weekend in February.
This is our third-annual event to raise monies for the Nauset High School Music Department. Join the Nauset Music Boosters as they hold a silent auction, raffles, and have the opportunity to sample some libations from local vendors. Students in all three choirs will participate in this fall concert extravaganza. Music from 1958-1965 will be the feature of this concert featuring, Doo-Wop, early Rock and Roll, Girls groups and more. Selected solos and small ensembles will also be featured. There is no admission charge for this event. This concert will be held in the Nauset Regional MIDDLE School Auditorium.
Nauset Music Students will be selling fruit for our follow-up to a hugely successful fall fruit sale last year. Students will be selling premium quality fruit to help them raise funds for their upcoming trip to Atlanta Georgia next spring. This is an individual fund-raiser for our music students. All profits go directly toward their trips. Please consider supporting our talented music students- and receive some wonderful fruit at the same time. Prefect for the upcoming holidays.
